Question : What exactly is a shackle?
Answer : The "U" part of the lock is the shackle, which may vary in thickness and in length.
Question : Is there one master key that can open all locks?
Answer : The term master keyed means there can be one (or more) master keys that will open all keyed-different locks in a system.
Question : I am having a hard time finding a dealer in my area that can supply me with the combination to my lock. Is there a list of dealers in the 30906, 30903, 30907, or 30909 zip code vicinity that can give me some assistances. Most locksmith were not very cooperative and the Ace and True Value dealers are affiliates and not true store. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Answer : For security and liability reasons HPI nor Master Lock Company provides combinations to end users. If you have the padlock you may send it to: P.O. Box 1326, El Cajon, CA 92022-1326 with a check for $6.00 each. We will then return the locks to you with the correct combinations. Some may find it less expensive to simply purchase new locks. Others may find some locks to be sentimental in value.

Question : Which is a better locker lock, built-in or padlock style?
Answer : Both are great depending upon the locker situation. Heatlth clubs and the like typically do better with key controlled padlock styles (model 1525) versus built-in locks. However, schools and the like may find it advantageous to use built-in locks due to the ease of day to day use. Padlocks never leave the locker etc., plus you can change the internal combination up to five times per lock. (1600 Series)

Question : Is there a difference between a "warded pad lock" and just a normal "pad lock"?
Answer : Good question! A warded padlock has a warded locking mechanism which minimizes jamming from dirt and grime. Typically, warded padlocks are not best for maximum security, but are great for sheds, gates etc. A "normal" padlock I will assume is a laminated steel pin tumbler padlock - The main difference here is the keyway for a pin tumbler padlock can be from four to seven pins in the cylinder itself. A warded padlock does not have a pin tumbler cylinder at all.

Next, line up all the red noches that are on the barrel to the red arrow on the side of the lock. Then, slide the rings back on to the barrel to your desired combination. Finally, snap the end piece back on to the lock. Thanks, Steve
